Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
There are so many things happening in the Body of Christ these days that are extremely distasteful not only to them who are called but to those who are seeking. The first thing that you and I must do brethren is to “contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3-4
The Church today is still as valid as it has ever been. The Church is still as necessary today to them who are the called according to God’s purpose. So, what’s the problem? As I see it, the problem is that we (the Church) have given in to worldly pursuits and neglected our true purpose.
Worldly pursuits have propagated the Church at-large because we have basically de-emphasized the doctrine of the church, focused more on practical “human” concerns, rather than biblical teaching for the understanding of the nature of the church. We have as the scripture has suggested, allowed “certain men” to creep into our assemblies without establishing the proper protocol for them the enter, hence we have the issues that we now have.
So, what do we do about it? The house must be swept.
We like to talk about the power and authority that we have, we flaunt our titles and positions before one another and in the midst there continues to be with us those certain men, those ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
These men must certainly be responsible for their own behaviors, conducts and attitudes but we who are the Church are responsible for cleansing the house through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Let’s get back to holy preaching, teaching and living. Let’s get back to calling sin, sin and not be afraid of the condemnation of the world for doing what we’ve been called to. Stop boycotting men and women who preach and teach the word and start boycotting them who sin in the name of the Lord!
